About: 

This is a blog about teaching Finnish as a foreign language. Here I write about suggestopaedia, the basic teaching method, announce and report about suggestopedical courses that I hold in Joensuu.

Tässä blogissa kirjoitan suomen kielen opettamisesta vieraana kielenä ennen kaikkea suggestopedisesta näkökulmasta. Täällä myös ilmoitellaan aĺkavista kursseista ja kerrotaan kurssien sisällöista ja tuloksista.

Этот блог посвящен преподаванию финского языка как иностранного. Здесь я пишу об основном методе преподавания - суггестопедии, размещаю объявления и отчеты о суггестопедических курсах, которые веду в городе Йоэнсуу.

Three names of me

Many probably wonder, why I use three different names in my blog. Here is a little explanation.

Korto is my pen name:) It's easy to spell, that is why it is in the name of the blog kristinakorto.blogspot.fi

Korotkih is my maiden name. I still use it in my e-mail: kristina.korotkih@gmail.com

Salmela is the surname of my husband and my official name.

And this is also me:)

Suggestopedian teaching in Tampere

This Youtube video tells about Onnenkieli language school, where I worked during a few months in 2011. Thanks to this experience I learned that languages ​​can be taught in very interesting and effective way. 

On the video the founder of the school tells about suggestopedian teaching and learning. Also you can see students working hard, as we do:)

My background

 Kristina Salmela (Korotkikh)

• born 1985 in Petrozavodsk, Karelia, Russia.

• graduated from Petrozavodsk State University in 2008 as translator and teacher of Finnish as a foreign language.

• have been working as a teacher of Finnish for children and adults at school and privately since 2008.

•  worked as a suggestopedian teacher in Tampere at Onnenkieli (language school) for 5 months. Afterwards felt in love with suggestopedian method of teaching! :)

• moved to Joensuu in January 2013 to study Russian as a foreign language at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF).

• certified the Russian pedagogic qualification at UEF in December 2013. 

• acquired the National Certificate of Language Proficiency according to which Finnish language skills have been assessed at C2 level.
